Room One had some furry visitors to the class today. Check out the photos! Thanks to Sarah Vaz for bringing them in and telling us all about them. When you come to our room next we can read about our accounts in our 'Dreams and Schemes' books.

Student teachers by Rene

Our student teachers names are Miss Flint and Miss O'Keeffe they love to be in our class room doing art and writing with us. They help us learn and understand things that are tricky words that we can learn and it helps to have 2 more helping hands in the class room.

Week 5

We are all settled back into school after a very busy week last week at Tui Ridge camp! The children did so well and I was very proud of how they pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and tried new things. We even made delicious food on the last night! Photos will be going up, but also feel free to pop into the classroom to see our camp-based artwork and photographs.

Week 3 ... Camp is not far away!

Week 3

We have had another busy week this week... lots of swimming and enjoying the sunshine outside. We have begun work learning about the 1886 Tarawera Eruption - ask your child what they know so far!

A reminder about camp next week - children need to be at school by 8am on Tuesday, so we can have the bus and cars all packed by 8.30am. We are aiming to return by 5pm on Friday. Please check the equipment list to ensure your child has everything they need. It gets really cold at night, so it's important they have lots of warm clothes and sleeping bag.

Thank you for all the baby photos that were entered - we will be using these pictures further to aid our writing about Change.

Mr and Mrs Twit. Blurb.By Georgia ,Jade.H and jade.D

We thought that the wormy spaghetti part in the book would be very funny and interesting for people to read.

Twit Texts by Hadyn, Ryan and Jamie

we  wrote this piece of text because some birds put  glue on their head and when they went in side everything was  up side down. they stood on their heads then the glue made made their heads stick to the floor and got the shrinks and after a week they were gone.

Twit Texts by Caitlin, Rene and Will

We wrote this because it was the first thing that came to our head. In the story The Twits the two foul people were very naughty to each other and so we thought of this text conversation.

Twit text br James Angus Hugo

mr Twit was being bosing the monkeys around

twit texts by tyler alex dylan

Mr twit cut the rope connected to an iron ring fixed into the grourd. This sent her flying into the sky by the upward pull by the balloons.

Twit text by Jaya,Abby & Rosie

It was funny and not to long to explain.
Mugglewump was as smart little monkey,he was sick of been put to stand on his head every day.so he turned the twits carpet and furniture upside down the put glue on the floor.

The wormy spaghetti! By Emma,Brier and JooHui!!!!!!

This is a scene when Mrs Twit played a horrible trick called the wormy spaghetti trick .
Mrs Twit plays this trick because she hates her husband.

Twit text by Gemma Briar Taliya

We chose this because Roley poly bird and Mr twit go right together because they are snappy

Mr Twit & Mr frog By Luke,Dan,Brigham

Mr twit & mrs twit are pranking each other and we think this is the funniest prank of all

Twit Texting Alfie Regan and zhihe

Wills art

So how we made this art well first of all we used pencil to draw it and then we used vivid to make it darker and then the fun part what room 1 loved coloured it in with pastels.

Ryan's art

A few days ago we created pieces of art called Picasso heads one half is looking to the left the other side is looking straight ahead. first we had to draw a first we had to draw a nose and a chin next we had to draw the eyes one of the eyes looks like a ice cream cone!! Then we started to colour it. Then we had to colour the back ground and then you've got yourself a Picasso head.

Jade's Picasso artwork

This artwork was so much fun, half of the face looking forward and half of the face is looking to the side. It was fun to mix and match the colours!!!
